Week 10 (65 Miles)
A good week: reasonable mileage, finishing with a new 10K PB at the Abbey Dash. Still travelling along Highway 95, passing just to the North of the Amargosa mountain range, and still uncomfortably close to Death Valley. Should make it to Las Vegas by the end of next week.Mon: 15 miles (exercise bike, 'M' session, Level 7 - Level 15, reasonably easy workout)
Tues: 9 miles (3 miles easy cycling; 6 miles run, 'tempo session' - 10 mins @ 7:30 min/mile; 20 mins @6:25; 10 mins @ 7:30)
Weds: 10 miles (3 miles easy cycling; 7 miles easy running @ 7:45 pace)
Thurs: 5 miles (run; easy pre-Dash track session, practicing running at race pace)
Fri: 10 miles (steady pace cycling on exercise bike)
Sat: 8 miles (3 miles easy cycling, 5 miles steady running @ 7:20 pace). Felt awful: heavy legs and wheezing
Sun: 8 miles (run; 2 miles easy warm-up, then Abbey Dash 10K in 37:16, chip time) New PB!! Well pleased; ran well, first 5K in 18:30, then hung on grimly to the finish. First time that I've run 10K inside 6 min/mile pace. Roll on Dewsbury in February!
