Week 11 (and a bit): 68 miles
Made it to Vegas at last! Took a little longer than expected, but I am more than ready for a little R&R. Feeling strong and running well since the Dash: its funny, but that race always seems to mark the start of a really good period of the year for me (it usually lasts until the Snake Lane 10 mile race at the end of February, then things tend to go downhill pretty rapidly...)
. Looking forward to the Calderdale Way Relay at the end of next week. I love the challenge of this event, plus it marks the start of my 'festive season'.
Mon: Rest day: well-deserved after yesterday's heroics!
Tues: 8 miles (run, easy-paced recce of Calderdale Way Relay Leg 2. Hilly, muddy and cold:- perfect!)
Weds: 9 miles (3 miles easy cycling, 6 miles easy running with David Lloyd group)
Thurs: 6 miles (run, Abbey track session. 9 x 800m, starting at 3:10 pace, finishing at 2:40 pace. Hard work, heavy legs)
Fri: 15 miles (steady cycling on exercise bike)
Sat: 14.5 miles (5 miles easy cycling, 6.5 miles steady running, 3 miles easy cycling)
Sun: 11 miles (5 miles easy cycling, 6 miles running: 4th West Yorkshire Cross Country League race; 125th in 46:00)
Mon: 4.5 miles (run; 8 x 400m reps at the track in 72 - 75s, with 3 min recoveries: hard work, but good fun - trained with Liz in the wind and rain)
